Alba International White Truffle Fair

The Alba International White Truffle Fair is an annual food-and-wine event held in the historic centre of Alba, in the province of Cuneo, dedicated to the prized white truffle (Tuber magnatum Pico) of the Langhe.1,2 The 96th edition was inaugurated on the evening of 9 October 2026 at the Teatro Sociale Busca in Alba and runs until 6 December 2026.1,2 The opening ceremony was attended, among others, by the special commissioner of the Italian Football Federation (Figc) Giovanni Malagò, skier Federico Pellegrino, fencer Valentina Vezzali, gymnast Alessia Maurelli and footballer Leonardo Bonucci, together with the president of the Piedmont Region Alberto Cirio, the mayor of Alba Alberto Gatto and the president of the Ente Fiera Axel Iberti.1,2 The evening included a tribute to two figures linked to the area who died in 2026, entrepreneur Maria Franca Ferrero and Slow Food founder Carlin Petrini.1,2 The ceremony was closed by Daliana Petre, the 2026 «Bela Trifolera», who brought the season's first specimen on stage.1,2 From the weekend following the opening, Alba's historic centre hosts the World Truffle Market in the Cortile della Maddalena, along with cooking demonstrations, sensory workshops and cultural events held throughout the fair.2
