The Piedmont Region is the regional government body, based in Turin and headed by Alberto Cirio.[1]

In September 2026 the Region presented Auxil.ia Piemonte, a generative artificial intelligence platform designed by the public-body consortium Csi Piemonte for the regional public administration: according to Cirio, Piedmont is the first Italian region to build an AI system tied to public administration. The platform, presented in the presence of the Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo, provides mayors, provincial presidents, officials and public employees with personalised digital assistants able to interact both with models hosted on the regional cloud and with models available on the market, in compliance with AgID guidelines and the European AI Act.[1][2]
