Auxil.ia is a generative artificial intelligence platform designed by CSI Piemonte, the Turin-based consortium of public bodies that manages the regional public administration’s information systems, to provide municipalities, provinces and other public bodies in the area with digital assistants that are intelligent and tailored to different administrative needs.

Presentation

The system was presented on 17 September 2026 at a press conference by the President of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, in the presence of the Minister for Public Administration, Paolo Zangrillo.[1][2] Cirio described Piedmont as «the first region in Italy to present, to build, an artificial intelligence system linked to Public Administration», stressing that the tool is «available to mayors, provincial presidents, executives, directors, public administrators».[2] The President also linked the initiative to the presence in Turin of the Italian Artificial Intelligence Foundation, describing Piedmont as also the first region to bring this type of tool to the public-administration market.[2]

Technical features

The platform communicates both with artificial-intelligence models hosted on the regional cloud and with models available on the market, with the aim of turning AI into a governed service that complies with the guidelines of the Agency for Digital Italy (AgID) and with the European Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act).[2] Auxil.ia was designed to be governed and secure, optimised for use by public employees, with data managed under the full control and responsibility of the body that owns it.[2]

Presentation of the platform (September 2026)

According to Cirio, Piedmont would be the first Italian region to build an artificial-intelligence system specifically linked to Public Administration.[1]

The platform, designed by the CSI Piemonte consortium, is intended for mayors, provincial presidents, executives and employees of public bodies, and can communicate both with models hosted on the regional cloud and with models available on the market, in compliance with AgID guidelines and the European AI Act. At the time of its presentation it had already been undergoing trials for several months with regional staff, ahead of a future rollout to Piedmont’s municipalities and other public bodies.[2]
