Time Banks of the Province of Turin
The Time Banks of the Province of Turin were coordinated by a mutual-aid network whose website, according to the copies preserved by the web archive, presented itself under the title «Coordination of Time Banks of the Province».1
The domain banchedeltempo.to.it continued to issue digital certificates from May 2019 to July 2025, when the site's activity stopped.2 The name is now free in the registry.3
The Provincial Coordination and the website banchedeltempo.to.it
The Coordination of Time Banks of the Province of Turin arose, according to the page «La nostra Storia» («Our History») on the site, from the experience of the Provincial Coordination of Time Banks established in December 1996 on the initiative of the Province of Turin (the Equal Opportunities Council Committee and the Social Activities Area), which in 1996 brought together 5 Time Banks; among the stated goals were support for member citizens, visibility for local initiatives and participation in the National Network of Time Banks, pursued through a monthly meeting and annual training seminars.1
In May 2014 the site, built with Drupal, listed over twenty Time Banks affiliated across the province, including those of Borgaro Torinese, Caluso, Chieri, Ciriè, Moncalieri, Nichelino, Pinerolo, Pino, Robassomero, Settimo Torinese, Valpellice, Vinovo and several districts of Turin, as well as training courses on socio-cultural project design already offered since 2009.2
In April 2023 the Coordination's activities were hosted on a different address, within the platform «Volontariato Torino Live Network» (voltoweb.it).3
The birth of the Coordination in 1996
According to the page «La nostra Storia» on the site banchedeltempo.to.it, recorded by the web archive on 13 April 2015, the Provincial Coordination of Time Banks was born in December 1996 on the initiative of the Province of Turin, specifically the Equal Opportunities Council Committee and the Social Activities Area, with the task of promoting, informing about and coordinating the Time Banks active or being set up across the province; in 1996 the Coordination brought together 5 Time Banks, which grew in the following years to more than 20, with almost a thousand members in total.1 In April 2023 the last snapshot with content showed the Coordination's news hosted on a third-party site, the Volontariato Torino Live network.2
The origins of the Provincial Coordination in 1996 and the affiliated Time Banks
The website banchedeltempo.to.it, on the «La nostra storia» page from 2015, traced the origins of the Provincial Coordination of Time Banks, born in December 1996 on the initiative of the Province of Turin, specifically the Equal Opportunities Council Committee and the Social Activities Area, with the goal of promoting and coordinating the Time Banks of the province; in 1996 the Coordination brought together 5 Time Banks, grown by 2015 to more than 20, with almost a thousand members in total.1
In May 2014 the site listed the Time Banks affiliated in the municipalities of Borgaro Torinese, Caluso, Chieri, Ciriè, Moncalieri, Nichelino, Pinerolo, Pino Torinese, Robassomero, Settimo Torinese and Vinovo, as well as five banks active in as many districts or neighborhoods of Turin.2
In the last snapshot with content, from April 2023, the Coordination's activity had migrated to a page on the Volontariato Torino Live Network portal.3
The origins of the Coordination in 1996 and its growth up to 2015
A page on the website banchedeltempo.to.it, archived in April 2015, traced the history of the Provincial Coordination of Time Banks, born in December 1996 on the initiative of the Province of Turin — the Equal Opportunities Council Committee and the Social Activities Area — with five affiliated Time Banks; by that date the Coordination counted almost a thousand members and more than twenty Banks across the province.1 A snapshot from April 2023 showed the activities continuing under the same name on the Volto Web volunteering portal, the Turin volunteering network.2

The website banchedeltempo.to.it is first recorded by the Web Archive on 3 March 2010.2 In the copy from 25 August 2017 the portal, built with Drupal, lists among the affiliated Time Banks those of Borgaro Torinese, Chieri, Ciriè, Moncalieri, Nichelino, Pinerolo, Pino, Robassomero, Settimo Torinese, Vinovo, Valpellice and four districts of Turin.3 The last copy with the site still online, from 20 December 2021, shows recent activities, including a national assembly on Zoom in May 2021.4

The website banchedeltempo.to.it, in the first copy traced by the Web Archive on 3 March 2010, presents the Time Bank born on 26 November 2003 on the initiative of twelve founding members, with two branches in the area: one in Torre Pellice, at the «Laboratorio di Cittadinanza Attiva» in the Municipality's premises, and the other in Bricherasio, at the Municipal Library and the «Punto Informativo Giovani».1 The site then becomes the portal of the Coordination of Time Banks of the Province of Turin, which on the page «La nostra storia» (copy from 9 December 2019) traces its origins back to the Provincial Coordination of Time Banks, established in December 1996 on the initiative of the Province of Turin with 5 affiliated Time Banks and grown, over more than 14 years, to a thousand members and more than 20 Banks across the province.2 The copies from 2017 and 2021 list, among the Time Banks affiliated with the Coordination, those of Borgaro Torinese, Chieri, Ciriè, Moncalieri, Nichelino, Pinerolo, Settimo Torinese, Vinovo and several districts of Turin.34

A dedicated page recounts that the Provincial Coordination of Time Banks was born in December 1996 on the initiative of the Province of Turin, then with 5 active Time Banks. In the capture from 25 August 2017 the site, run on Drupal, lists a network comprising Borgaro Torinese, Chieri, Ciriè, Moncalieri, Nichelino, Pinerolo, Pino, Robassomero, Settimo Torinese, Valpellice, Vinovo and three districts of Turin. One domain, two stories: from the Torre Pellice Time Bank to the Provincial Coordination
The domain banchedeltempo.to.it, in the first snapshot from 2010, hosted the website of the Torre Pellice and Bricherasio Time Bank, born on 26 November 2003 from twelve founding members with two branches in Val Pellice. From 2017 the same address instead hosted the website of the Coordination of Time Banks of the Province of Turin, itself born in December 1996 on the initiative of the Province of Turin with five affiliated time banks, and grown to bring together about twenty time banks and roughly a thousand members across the province.

In the copy from 25 August 2017 the site, based on Drupal, lists the affiliated Time Banks in municipalities such as Borgaro Torinese, Chieri, Ciriè, Moncalieri, Nichelino, Pinerolo, Settimo Torinese and several districts of Turin, and celebrates the Coordination's twentieth anniversary (1996-2016). In the last working copy, from 20 December 2021, the list of affiliated Banks includes the newcomers Casalborgone, Canavese and Orbassano, and the site documents the assemblies and meetings held online on Zoom during the pandemic.

In 2016 the site celebrated the Coordination's twenty years of activity with posts such as «Banche del Tempo - 20 anni in rete con te» («Time Banks - 20 years networked with you») and «Chieri - 20 anni di passione» («Chieri - 20 years of passion»). A snapshot from 20 December 2021, the last with full content, shows the online meetings held on Zoom during the pandemic, including the 2021 National Assembly of Time Banks. In the first usable snapshot of the domain banchedeltempo.to.it, from 3 March 2010, the Coordination's homepage instead reported the history of a single local Time Bank, that of Torre Pellice and Bricherasio, active since 26 November 2003 with twelve founding members and two branches. The domain banchedeltempo.to.it was born as the website of the Coordination of Time Banks of the Province of Turin: the capture from 3 March 2010 describes a network of just two branches, in Torre Pellice and Bricherasio, born on 26 November 2003 from twelve founding members. The captures from 25 August 2017 and 20 December 2021 show a network grown to more than a dozen branches, including Chieri, Moncalieri, Nichelino, Settimo Torinese, Vinovo and some districts of Turin, with the addition in 2021 of Orbassano, Casalborgone and the Canavese Time Bank.
The Coordination and the website banchedeltempo.to.it
In 1996 the Coordination brought together 5 Time Banks, which rose over time to more than 20, with a membership base close to a thousand people. Its working tools included a monthly meeting among all affiliates and annual training seminars.[1]
The renewal of the board and associational life during the pandemic
Among the news published on the site, in June 2016 the Coordination announced the renewal of its board, in office until 2018.1
During the Covid-19 pandemic activities were also held online: besides the assemblies, the Coordination organized cultural get-togethers on Zoom, such as the one dedicated to theatre on 13 April 2021, and in November 2021 it announced the resumption of fortnightly meetings with Time Banks at the national level.2
