Caluso
Caluso is a municipality in the Canavese area, in the Turin area [2]. In September 2026 the town was mentioned in local court news in connection with an investigation carried out by the Carabinieri of Strambino.
The case
A 46-year-old employee of an asphalt-paving company based in Montalenghe, living in Caluso, was reported by the Carabinieri of Strambino for attempted aggravated theft, continued theft and handling stolen goods [1][2]. The Carabinieri had intervened after a report from the company's owner, who, together with some colleagues, had caught the employee siphoning diesel fuel from the tank of a company vehicle used for road cleaning that had been entrusted to him [1][2]. Four fuel cans were seized at the scene, some of them hidden in the vegetation along the road, and a butterfly knife over twenty centimetres long was found and seized during a personal search [1].
The investigation continued at the man's home in Caluso, where, in the courtyard, inside a woodshed shielded from passers-by, the Carabinieri found a tank containing around a thousand litres of diesel fuel, believed to be linked to earlier thefts from the same company [1][2]. In the same space, 56 crates containing asphalt-milling components and further empty plastic cans were recovered [1][2]. All the material was seized and later returned into the company's custody [1].
