Montalenghe
Montalenghe is a municipality in Canavese, connected to the nearby village of San Giorgio Canavese via the provincial road SP217. The stretch of road between the two towns passes over an overpass above a motorway, in an area marked by a bend [2].
The September 2026 accident
On 22 September 2026, at around 3:30 pm, a 61-year-old motorcyclist riding a Honda CBR went off the road on the SP217, in the stretch between Montalenghe and San Giorgio Canavese, near the overpass above the motorway [1][2].
The scene was attended by the 118 emergency medical service of Azienda Zero, the Red Cross ambulance from San Giorgio Canavese, the air ambulance, and the Carabinieri from the San Giorgio Canavese station [1][2]. Medical personnel attempted to resuscitate the motorcyclist, but the man died before he could be taken to hospital [1][2].
The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the Carabinieri of San Giorgio Canavese [1][2].
