Experimenta::::::2001
experimenta.to.it was the site of Experimenta, a travelling interactive science exhibition launched in 1985 as an initiative of the Piedmont Region's Department of Culture for science outreach: the web page, still "under construction" in July 2001 and run by CSI Piemonte, described a first edition that had drawn 120,000 visitors.12
The format, which combined science, technology, art and entertainment with a different theme each year, drew more than two million visitors over twenty years of editions.2
Since 2012 Experimenta's holdings have been managed by the Director of Turin's Regional Museum of Natural Sciences: in August 2020 the site still presented exhibitions under way, including some produced in collaboration with the municipality of Novara.23

The site experimenta.to.it, documented in the web archive since 6 July 2001, was the portal of the regional Experimenta project, launched in 1985 as a pilot initiative of the Piedmont Region's Department of Culture for interactive science outreach: the first edition drew 120,000 visitors, and over time the project drew more than two million visitors in total. Since 2012 Experimenta's holdings have been managed by the director of Turin's Regional Museum of Natural Sciences, who has used its exhibits for travelling exhibitions such as "Nel nostro piatto" in Novara and "Mi muovo, dunque sono!" in Carmagnola and Giaveno; the site's last snapshot dates from 14 August 2020.

From the site experimenta.to.it to the Cuneo planetarium (2001-2020)
The site experimenta.to.it, in the web archive snapshot from 6 July 2001, presents multimedia content in Flash and QuickTime Virtual Reality. In the snapshot from 14 August 2020 the site recounts that Experimenta was launched in 1985 as a pilot initiative of the Piedmont Region's Department of Culture for science outreach, and announces the opening in Cuneo, in a former primary school, of the Experimenta planetarium, active from 5 June 2018 to 4 June 2021.
The domain experimenta.to.it after 2001
After the first snapshot from 2001 that gives the page its name, the domain experimenta.to.it evolves: in 2007 it presents itself as a "plug-in detection" tool; the last snapshot preserved by the archive, from 14 August 2020, shows the site relaunched as "Experimenta Torino", described as an initiative to spread scientific knowledge in a playful way.
