Festival Insieme 2026
Festival Insieme is the event dedicated to the world of disability organized every year in Turin by Fondazione Paideia, which has been active for thirty years in supporting families with children with disabilities and in promoting a culture of inclusion. The fourth edition took place from 18 to 20 September 2026 between Paideia's headquarters in via Moncalvo 1 and piazza Arbarello [1][2].
Programme
The opening was held on Friday 18 September at 6.30 pm at the Centro Paideia, with a meeting between writer and activist Fabrizio Acanfora and Rosa Bellacicco, professor of inclusive pedagogy at the Department of Philosophy and Education Sciences of the University of Turin, dedicated to the theme of ableism. In the afternoon, the workshops "Progetti di vita tra aspettative e possibilità concrete" ("Life projects between expectations and concrete possibilities"), "Raccontare la disabilità a scuola" ("Talking about disability at school") and "Il coinvolgimento dei genitori dalla stanza di terapia agli ambienti di vita" ("Involving parents from the therapy room to everyday life settings") were held at the Centro Paideia [2].
The institutional greetings were held on Saturday 19 September in piazza Arbarello, with the Regione Piemonte's Health Councillor Federico Riboldi, the City of Turin's deputy mayor Michela Favaro and Fondazione Paideia's secretary general Fabrizio Serra, hosted by Mary Cacciola of Radio Capital. The same day saw the talks "Contare per essere riconosciuti" ("Counting in order to be recognized") and "Caregiver tra palco e realtà" ("Caregivers between the stage and reality"), and in the afternoon, in piazza Arbarello, the talk "Adattarsi" ("Adapting") with French writer Clara Dupont-Monod, followed by "Coppia mista" ("Mixed couple") and the talk "Terrestri ribelli" ("Rebel earthlings") with singer-songwriter Eugenio Finardi, who discussed his experience as a father [2].
Sunday 20 September, the festival's final day, opened with a "Pilates solidale" ("charity Pilates") class with free donations in favour of Fondazione Paideia [2].
Themes and guests
The festival addressed themes such as ableism, self-determination, representation, caregiving and affection, with the aim of moving beyond both the pitying and the heroic narratives of disability, restoring the complexity of real lives. Among the guests, besides Acanfora, Dupont-Monod and Finardi, was illusionist Arturo Brachetti, together with people with disabilities, family members and caregivers [1].
The talk "Coppia mista", dedicated to stereotypes about relationships between people with and without disabilities, was also attended by La Stampa, represented by Diversity Editor Pasquale Quaranta [1].
