Torino Esposizioni

Torino Esposizioni is a former exhibition complex located in the Parco del Valentino, in Turin. Its spaces are at the centre of a redevelopment project that is changing their intended use, transforming them into the heart of the new diffuse cultural hub named VALE, presented on 16 September 2026.[1][2]

The VALE project

VALE, short for Valentino, is the name of the new diffuse cultural hub that connects the Parco del Valentino, the Teatro Nuovo, the Borgo Medievale, the Orto Botanico and the city's universities. At the heart of the project is the new central civic library, built in the redeveloped spaces of Torino Esposizioni, whose opening to the public is scheduled for 11 December 2026. The first events in the lead-up calendar began on 5 November 2026, while VALE's full programme got fully underway at the start of 2027.[1][2]

The new functions in the former Torino Esposizioni spaces

In addition to the central civic library, the pavilions of the former Torino Esposizioni also house the new campus of the Politecnico di Torino, according to the City of Turin.[2] The Politecnico has also announced the inauguration of VALE as a permanent laboratory for citizenship and culture.[3]

Funding and partners

The mayor of Turin, Stefano Lo Russo, described the transformation of the Valentino area, of which Torino Esposizioni is part, as one of the largest urban projects in the city's recent history, highlighting the collaboration between the City, universities, banking foundations, cultural institutions and private partners.[2] Fondazione CRT contributed an investment of 7 million euros for works connected to the transformation of the Parco del Valentino and the construction of the new central civic library. The president of Fondazione CRT, Anna Maria Poggi, stated that the investment concerns knowledge, accessibility and the future of the city. Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo is engaged in a project to enhance and manage the Borgo Medievale, through a public-private partnership agreement involving the company XKE SI as a special partner, for an investment of 24 million euros, plus around 2 million euros a year for management.[2]
