Threatening graffiti against Meloni and Marrone in Rivoli and Turin
News of

In November 2025, two threatening graffiti messages appear in Rivoli and Turin, directed at Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Piedmont Region deputy president Maurizio Marrone, a member of Brothers of Italy (Fratelli d'Italia). The incidents are reported by Rivoli city councillor Federico Depetris, also of Brothers of Italy, who speaks of "an ugly atmosphere" in the Turin metropolitan area.[1][2]
The graffiti in Rivoli and Turin
In Rivoli, near a car park close to the Castello di Rivoli, a contemporary art museum, the words "Meloni come Kirk" ("Meloni like Kirk") appear, accompanied by a drawn crosshair. The reference is to the killing of US activist Charlie Kirk in 2025.[1] The same phrase had previously appeared at Porta Susa station in Turin during the rail blockade of 25 September 2025.[2] In Turin, on via Vanchiglia, next to the words "Aska vive" ("Aska lives"), the phrase "un Marrone datte foco" ("Marrone, set yourself on fire") appears instead, referring to Piedmont regional deputy president Maurizio Marrone.[2]
Political reactions
After Brothers of Italy flagged it on social media, the graffiti at Castello di Rivoli is partially covered and removed.[1] City councillor Federico Depetris links the incidents to the city's political climate, criticising Turin mayor Stefano Lo Russo's stance on regularising the premises of the Askatasuna social centre: "There is an ugly atmosphere. When you coddle crowds made up of violent social-centre activists, whose Askatasuna premises Lo Russo wanted to regularise, and of so-called 'maranza' [street gangs], this is what happens: graffiti glorifying the killing of political opponents starts appearing."[1][2]
Depetris calls for a joint statement from the whole of Rivoli's city council, also recalling earlier incidents of insults directed at League (Lega) figures Umberto Bossi and Matteo Salvini that appeared on a city noticeboard: "I hope all of Rivoli's political forces will voice unequivocal condemnation, because I have read many online comments from people justifying these threats against Giorgia Meloni. Those holding institutional office have a duty to set a good example."[1]
