Vanchiglia

Vanchiglia is a district of Turin, home to the neighborhood committee "Vanchiglia Insieme".¹ On 25 September 2026 the committee organized a day of snacks and wooden games on via Balbo and, in the evening, a walk through the streets of the district in memory of a seven-year-old child who had died a few days earlier after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle on corso Regina Margherita.¹

In the preceding days the district had already mobilized with a daily "human bike lane" to protect the cycle path on the service road of corso Regina Margherita, where a cordon of about three hundred people had formed.²

Residents' petition for more green space and safety (October 2026)

In October 2026 a committee of Vanchiglia residents launched a petition, which gathered more than 310 signatures, asking the City of Turin for more trees, flower beds and road safety in the district.¹²
