«Torino Cambia» roadworks of 26 October 2026

On 26 October 2026 a new phase of works begins under the «Torino Cambia – Spazi che uniscono» (Turin Changes – Spaces that Unite) programme, with road maintenance, resurfacing, pavement works and improvements to the safety and accessibility of junctions in several districts of the city. The programme is supported by Fondazione CRT with a total investment of 32 million euros for the upkeep of streets and public spaces [1].

Resurfacing

From Monday 26 October, crews are at work resurfacing strada Val San Martino, in the stretch between via Pinin Pacòt and strada Santa Margherita. From 27 to 30 October, GTT bus line 54 is restricted at the junction with via Pinin Pacòt, with the next stop temporarily suspended [1]. On Tuesday 27 October, works begin on via Nizza, in the stretch in front of the Lingotto between via Vado and number 294, with work on the whole junction with via Millefonti, where disused tram tracks are removed, the road surface repaired and new asphalt laid; a temporary partial closure of via Millefonti is expected [1]. Works on strada Antica di Collegno are nearing completion, expected to finish on 27 October; from the start of November the programme continues on corso Sacco e Vanzetti and then on via Valentino Carrera [1]. Works on corso Unione Sovietica, between strada del Drosso and the bridge over the Sangone, are also nearing completion, with traffic diverted onto the service roads; on 27 October crews move to via Anselmetti, with the carriageway partially closed, while between 30 October and 2 November the works are expected to open on strada del Drosso [1].

Junctions and pavements

The programme to improve the safety and accessibility of eight city junctions continues, with resurfacing, pavement and parking area works, the removal of architectural barriers, the laying of tactile paths for people with visual disabilities, upgrades to traffic light systems and improvements to rainwater drainage [1]. In piazza Hermada, works that began on 19 October are still under way; works at the junction between corso Sommeiller and corso Re Umberto are instead nearing completion, where from 26 October the traffic light system is switched off to allow Iren to replace it, in an operation lasting around two weeks during which traffic is directed by municipal police officers [1]. From 26 October, work also begins to redo around forty metres of pavement on corso Turati, on the service road at the corner with corso Dante, laying new paving and fixing the kerbs [1]. In the Falchera district, resurfacing work continues at the junction between via delle Querce and via degli Abeti, renewing the asphalt and fixing the roundabout kerb; the site remains active for at least the whole week [1].

Via Pianezza flyover

The first phase of maintenance works on the via Pianezza flyover, on corso Regina Margherita, affecting the carriageway leaving the city towards the ring road (tangenziale), is nearing completion. The works continue on 24 October and from 5am on Saturday to 7pm on Sunday 25 October, to allow the more disruptive work to take place [1].
