Seven arrests for drug dealing in Turin in November 2026
Date of the event:
Between 4 and 7 November 2026, the Carabinieri carry out a series of anti-drug checks in Turin and its inner-ring municipalities, arresting seven people within 72 hours. The operation involves several Carabinieri stations and units, also engaged in the Strade Sicure service together with the Italian Army. In three cases, those arrested try to avoid seizure by swallowing the doses of drugs they were holding in their mouths, a practice the Carabinieri call «body stuffing» [1][2].
The drug-swallowing incidents
During the night between 6 and 7 November, at the corner of corso Palermo and via Favria, in the Barriera di Milano district, Carabinieri from the Falchera station catch a 21-year-old man from Central Africa putting heat-sealed packets of drugs into his mouth. On seeing the officers, the young man chews and swallows them, suffering an adverse reaction that requires transport to the San Giovanni Bosco hospital; he is arrested nonetheless [1][3].
A few hours earlier, in via Onorato Vigliani, the radio patrol unit catches a 31-year-old man selling three doses of crack. Once stopped, the man swallows further doses he had hidden in his mouth; X-ray examinations at the Molinette hospital confirm the presence of the drug and the man is admitted to the prisoners' ward [1][3]. A similar incident occurs in Collegno, along via Sacra di San Michele, where Carabinieri from the local station stop a 19-year-old, also from Central Africa, who swallows several packets at the sight of them. Taken to the Molinette hospital, he is found to have three ovules in his stomach and, by order of the Turin public prosecutor's office (Procura), is transferred to the prisoners' ward under medical isolation [1][3].
The other arrests
In via Sandigliano, at the corner with corso Giulio Cesare, the Nucleo Operativo Oltre Dora arrests a 37-year-old man caught selling a dose of crack for five euros [1][3]. In piazza Bengasi an 18-year-old is arrested after selling cocaine for 30 euros; found with a further 7.5 grams of the same substance, he is also reported for providing a false identity and illegal entry into the country [1]. In piazzetta Santa Giulia another eighteen-year-old is arrested for selling hashish and found in possession of a further eight grams of drugs and a 15-centimetre knife [1].
In Moncalieri, the Carabinieri finally arrest a homeless man born in 1997, found with a few grams of hashish and 700 euros in cash [1][2]. In total the operation leads to the seizure of around 1,100 euros, believed to be proceeds of the drug-dealing activity [1][2][3].
