SPID Piemonte
SPID Piemonte (spid.piemonte.it) is the access point through which citizens and businesses enter the online services of the Piedmont public administration with their digital identity. Its pages serve as the authentication gateway for the services of the Region and affiliated bodies, such as «ServiziWeb Torino», the access portal for the services of the City of Turin, and they also link through to the list of services on Sistema Piemonte, the portal for citizens and businesses [1].
The site's role has grown with the requirement to use national credentials: since 1 October 2021, under decree-law 76/2020 as converted into law 120/2020, access to the online services of the Piedmont Region is granted only through SPID, the electronic identity card, or the health card-CNS, and the same credentials are valid for the services of municipalities and national services [2]. Users of regional services choose between SPID, CIE and CNS, while staff of local authorities have credentials issued by the Piedmont public administration [3].
By its very nature, the site is an intermediate step: most users arrive there from other portals, and the sites of origin include those of Poste Italiane, the Ministry of the Interior and InfoCert, that is, the providers of digital identities and the electronic identity card [4]. In the Torino Top 100 ranking for September 2026, the site is listed among the top 5,000 most visited sites in Italy according to Google's Chrome UX Report.
