Italy–South Africa at the Allianz Stadium (7 November 2026)
On 7 November 2026 the Allianz Stadium in Turin hosts Italy–South Africa, a rugby match counting towards the first home round of the Northern Hemisphere Series of the Nations Championship, the new international competition bringing together the twelve best national teams in the world.[1][2] Gonzalo Quesada's Azzurri face the reigning world champion Springboks: for Italy it is the fourth head-to-head meeting with South Africa in the last four years, in a rivalry that began in 1995 at the Olimpico in Rome, included Italy's win in Florence in 2016 and the clash at the 2019 World Cup in Japan, and will be repeated at the World Cup in Australia the following year.[1][2]
For the Allianz Stadium, inaugurated fifteen years earlier, this is the third international rugby match hosted by the venue, which had already staged the 2014 Europa League final, two matches of the 2021 Nations League Finals and the 2022 Women's Champions League final among the international football events it has organised.[1][3] The match was presented on 20 September 2026 at the stadium, before the Juventus–Atalanta match, in the presence of the City of Turin's Sports Councillor Domenico Carretta and representatives of the Italian Rugby Federation, Juventus and the Piedmont Region.[1][2]
