Nations Championship

The Nations Championship is a new international rugby competition bringing together the world's twelve best national teams, played in July and November windows between the northern and southern hemispheres, with the finals scheduled at Twickenham from 27 to 29 November 2026.

The tournament debuts in Italy on Saturday 7 November 2026, when the Allianz Stadium in Turin will host, at 12:40, the match between the Italian national team led by Gonzalo Quesada and the reigning world champions South Africa, in the first home round of the Northern Hemisphere Series. It will be the fourth meeting between the two national teams in the last four years, in a rivalry that began in 1995 at the Olimpico in Rome, passed through Italy's win in Florence in 2016 and their meeting at the 2019 World Cup in Japan; the two teams will also meet again at the Rugby World Cup in Australia the following year. After Turin, Italy will face Argentina on 14 November in Genoa and Fiji on 21 November in Udine.

The match was announced on the afternoon of 20 September 2026 at the Allianz Stadium itself, during the pre-match of Juventus-Atalanta, in the presence of the Turin City Councillor for Sport Domenico Carretta and Juventus Chief Club Affairs Officer Giorgio Chiellini. For the Turin venue, inaugurated fifteen years ago, it will be the third international rugby test match hosted.
