Francesca Archibugi

Francesca Archibugi made her directorial debut in 1988 with the film "Mignon è partita." Over the course of her career she has received three David di Donatello awards, four Nastri d'argento, a Golden Globe, and a Flaiano Prize.[1][2]

Comment from the Artistic Director

The artistic director of the Torino Film Festival, Giulio Base, commented on the appointment, stating that he deeply admires Francesca Archibugi for the sensitivity, intelligence, and independence with which she has built her career, noting that she was already a prominent presence at a time when women behind the camera were still few, and that she continues today to support the talent of her female colleagues. Base expressed his confidence that, as jury president, Archibugi will be able to recognize talent, embrace the unexpected, and give a hearing to the most original voices in contemporary cinema.[1][2]
