Consiglio regionale del Piemonte

The Consiglio regionale del Piemonte (Piedmont Regional Council) is the legislative body of the Piedmont Region. On 29 September 2026 it unanimously approves the new Regional Territorial Plan, replacing the one in force since 2011, aimed at curbing land consumption and dividing the territory into 33 Territorial Integration Areas.

The chamber is seated at Palazzo Lascaris, in Turin; in 2026 the Council is chaired by Davide Nicco.

According to the regional councillor for Urban Planning Marco Gallo, the new Plan arrives after fifteen years to take stock of a territory that has changed profoundly.

In the same sitting of 29 September the chamber unanimously approves sixteen policy resolutions, including three motions on the water crisis and on agriculture.

On the morning of 29 September the minority groups walk out of the chamber after requesting an urgent briefing from the Region's vice president Maurizio Marrone on his participation in celebrations of the dynastic Orders of the House of Savoy.

On 30 September 2026 the Council approves a motion by the leader of the Lista Civica Cirio group, Silvio Magliano, in support of Confesercenti's popular-initiative bill for neighbourhood retail.
