Confesercenti

Confesercenti is a trade association representing businesses in commerce, tourism and services.

According to an analysis by Confesercenti, between 2019 and 2025, 1,915 bars closed in Piedmont, a 15.83% reduction, of which 507 in the city of Turin alone; the loss of wealth for the region is estimated at 575 million euros. Piedmont ranks fifth in Italy for the decline in the number of bars, with density falling from 2.8 to 2.4 establishments per thousand inhabitants, against a national average of 2.5. [3]

Widening the view to the entire Province of Turin, which also includes the provincial capital, the decline reaches 893 establishments (-14.39%); among Italian regional capitals, Turin ranks third for the reduction in the number of bars. [3]

Among the causes cited are rising management and labor costs, reduced spending power among customers, the spread of remote work, competition from large retail chains, and the expansion of home delivery. [3]
