Circolo dei Lettori
Turin's house of reading, today a foundation with venues across Piedmont, marking its twentieth anniversary in 2026.

The Circolo dei Lettori is Turin's cultural institution devoted to reading, organised as a foundation and active with an ongoing programme of festivals, talks and book presentations[1].
The twentieth-anniversary season
The season presented in September 2026 coincides with the Circolo's twentieth anniversary, also marked by a new logo. The programme runs for eleven months and unfolds across the venues of Turin and Novara, as well as Moncalieri, Stresa, Cuneo and Alessandria[1].
The theme chosen for the year is "Natural Intelligence". Director Giuseppe Culicchia explained the choice by asserting the centrality of the book and the work of art in the face of artificial intelligence, which in his view "feeds on what human civilisation has produced over the centuries"[1].
The programme
Between September and November 2026, guests expected in Turin include, among others, Helen Oyeyemi, Marco Cassardo, Leila Slimani, Madeline Cash, Andrew Sean Greer, Sarah Aziza, Eshkol Nevo and Fernando Aramburu. The literary marathons continue with a day devoted to the Brontë sisters on 7 November 2026 and, in 2027, with marathons for the centenary of the publication of Ernest Hemingway's "Fiesta" and for the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Gabriel García Márquez[1].
Change at the presidency
In September 2026 Giulio Biino stepped down as president of the Circolo dei Lettori[2].
Appointment of Andrea Ganelli as president (October 2026)
On 5 October 2026 the Piedmont Regional Government appointed notary Andrea Ganelli as the new president of the Circolo dei Lettori Foundation in Turin, replacing Giulio Biino.12
