CNA Turin celebrates 80 years of activity
Date of the event:
On 19 September 1946, at Via Bogino 8 in Turin, a furniture maker, a mechanic and a photographer founded before notary Pietro Astore the Free Association "Artigianato di Torino e Provincia," the forerunner of CNA. Eighty years later, on 18 September 2026, the association celebrates the anniversary at the Sermig with a day dedicated to the role of craft trades and SMEs in the economy, to the contribution of young people and women, and to CNA's history, with three talks and awards for its longest-standing members; 46 representatives of member businesses take the stage, including the oldest, Eliografia Rossi on Corso Marconi, now in its fourth generation. "We chose to dedicate a talk to the role of women too, to highlight their contribution to the economy and the business system," says chair Rosanna Ventrella Grimaldi. Secretary Filippo Provenzano describes the celebrations also as "a travelling festival" that has already visited Susa, Castellamonte and Pinerolo, with further events planned until December: in Castellamonte, on 27 August, CNA honoured craftsmen with more than 40 years of membership loyalty during the Ceramics Exhibition. During 2026, on the occasion of the eightieth anniversary, CNA Torino was also among the signatories, at the Turin City Hall, of the protocol establishing the coordination table for Turin UNESCO Creative City of Design, and organised with CNA Federmoda the eleventh Torino Fashion Week at Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana, dedicated to young designers of Generations Z and Alpha.
