Eightieth anniversary of the Turin CNA (September 2026)
On 19 September 1946, at via Bogino 8 in Turin, a furniture maker, a mechanic and a photographer founded the "Libera Associazione Artigianato di Torino e Provincia" (Free Craft Association of Turin and Province) before notary Pietro Astore — a forerunner of the CNA (Confederazione Nazionale dell'Artigianato e della Piccola e Media Impresa, the National Confederation of Crafts and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises).1
Eighty years later, on 18 September 2026 the Turin CNA celebrated the anniversary with a day of events at the Sermig, dedicated to the role of crafts and small and medium-sized enterprises in the economy, to the contribution of young people and women, and to the association's history. The day included three talks, awards for its most loyal members and recognition for entrepreneurs who contributed to the association's growth, with 46 representatives of member businesses on stage. The oldest honoured business was Eliografia Rossi of corso Marconi, now in its fourth generation.1
President Rosanna Ventrella Grimaldi explained the choice to dedicate one of the talks to the role of women in the economy and in the business system. Secretary Filippo Provenzano described the celebrations as "a travelling festival to recognise the fundamental role of the municipalities of the Metropolitan City and of local micro-economies": the related road show had already stopped in Susa, Castellamonte and Pinerolo, with further events planned until December 2026.1
Among the road show's stops, on 27 August 2026 in Castellamonte, during the Mostra della Ceramica (Ceramics Exhibition), the CNA honoured member craftspeople active for over 40 years and presented the book "Tradizioni identitarie – Cavolo verza di Montalto Dora, ceramiche di Castellamonte" ("Identity traditions – Savoy cabbage of Montalto Dora, Castellamonte ceramics"), by Sandra Baruzzi and Maurizio Bertodatto, published by Edizioni Pedrini. CNA Torino's communications officer, Vitaliano Alessio Stefanoni, spoke at the event.2
