ASL AT

ASL AT is the local health authority serving the Province of Asti and is one of the twelve local health authorities of Piedmont [1]. It has its registered office at via Conte Verde 125 in Asti, and its territory is organized into the districts of Asti Centro, Asti Nord and Asti Sud [1]. Its hospital facilities are the Cardinal Massaia hospital in Asti and the Santo Spirito della Valle Belbo hospital in Nizza Monferrato [2]. Since 1 January 2025 the general manager has been Giovanni Gorgoni, appointed by the Regional Council on 23 December 2024 [3].
The authority's main facility is the Cardinal Massaia hospital, built in the Fontanino area north of the city: work began in 1997 and was completed in April 2004, with all healthcare activities transferred there in 2005 [4]. The new building, linked to piazza Alfieri along corso Dante, is among the few Italian hospitals equipped with an automated transport system [4]. The old civic hospital on via Botallo, housed in a former fifteenth-century monastery, closed at the end of 2005 and has remained unused in the center of Asti [5].
The site asl.at.it is the institutional portal through which the authority informs the citizens of Asti about its services, appointment bookings and facilities; the regional list of local health authorities still indicates the previous portal, portale.asl.at.it, as its web address [1]. In the Torino Top 100 ranking for September 2026, the site is among the top 50,000 most visited sites in Italy according to Google's Chrome UX Report.
