Women & the City 2026

Women & the City 2026 is the fourth edition of the festival promoted by the Fondazione Torino Città per le Donne ETS, which since 2023 has brought public debate on the condition of women and their contribution to city life to Turin. The official opening is held on Friday 6 November at 5pm in the Giovanni Agnelli lecture hall of the Politecnico di Torino, while the festival continues until Wednesday 18 November with free events at various venues in the city and the metropolitan area. The programme

Through panels, lectures, conferences, book presentations, shows and live podcasts, the programme addresses themes such as the design of new technologies, women's health needs, job opportunities, housing accessibility and women's place in sport. Action against gender-based violence runs through several meetings dedicated to language, justice and the culture of domination, directly involving men as well. [1] Guests include feminist philosopher Lorenzo Gasparrini, with a stand-up comedy show on masculinities, the foundation's "Attivare gli uomini" ("Engaging men") group, and French historian Ivan Jablonka, who gives a lecture on the culture of femicide. The preview and the opening

The festival is preceded, on Tuesday 20 October at 8pm, by a preview at the Cinema Fratelli Marx with a screening of "Carla Lonzi, dentro e fuori dal mondo" by Francesca Archibugi, produced by Fandango with Luce Cinecittà and Rai Cinema, introduced in the cinema by the director. [1] On 6 November, after the opening at the Politecnico, Lorenzo Gasparrini's show "Ma cosa ho fatto? Corso per diventare uomini nuovi" follows at 6pm, and at 9pm at the Circolo dei Lettori, a preview of the show "Le ultime ribelli: Lea e Denise". [1]

Venues across the city

The events are held at various venues in the city, from the Politecnico di Torino to the Circolo dei Lettori, from the Einaudi Campus to SocialFare and Ultraspazio Club. The festival also extends into the metropolitan area: the City of Moncalieri and the municipality of Cinzano are partners of the 2026 edition. On Thursday 12 November the "A. Arduino" civic library in Moncalieri hosts two meetings on menopause and financial education, while on Sunday 15 November the Nietta Aprà literary café in Cinzano hosts the meeting "Dove comincia la violenza?" ("Where does violence begin?") with lawyer Anna Clorinda Ronfani. [1] The 2026 edition is the first since the touring stop in Bari, held the previous May. [1]
