Vigili del Fuoco Torino - Comando Provinciale

vvf.to.it was the website of the Provincial Command of the Turin Fire Brigade: the first archived snapshot, from June 1998, already presented it under this name.1

In 2019 the site described the Command as organised into a central headquarters, where administrative work also takes place, and eight professional outlying stations across the province of Turin.2

Another page recounted the creation, in 1991, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Fire Corps, of a historical archive devoted to documenting the activity of the Turin fire brigade.3

The domain, registered since 10 December 1996, issued its last digital certificates on 27 November 2025 and is now paid up until 13 January 2027.45

The site vvf.torino.it from 1998 to 2019

The site vvf.torino.it, online from 1998 to 2019, was the online information publication of the Provincial Command of the Turin Fire Brigade. The first snapshot, from February 1998, presented sections devoted to the corps' history, operational and administrative services and the "Scuola Sicura" ("Safe School") project with Turin schools.

In 2003 the Command's headquarters were at corso Regina Margherita 330 in Turin. In 2019 the site listed public reception hours for fire prevention procedures on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and reported the appointment of commander Marco Frezza.

Alongside vvf.to.it, the Provincial Command of the Turin Fire Brigade also used the domain vvf.torino.it, documented in the web archive from February 1998 with an "online information publication" that announced, among other things, the round table "Esigere la sicurezza" ("Demanding Safety") on the role of firefighters in civil protection. In 2003 the site, based at corso Regina Margherita 330, offered a reserved entrance to the intranet; the last available copy dates from October 2019.

The sites vvf.to.it and vvf.torino.it: from 1998 to 2019

The Provincial Command of the Turin Fire Brigade published its website on two parallel addresses, vvf.to.it and vvf.torino.it, both already online in 1998. That year's pages were devoted, among other things, to the first anniversary of the fire at Turin Cathedral on 11 April 1997, with material collected on the episode, and to a historical account of the Turin fire brigade written by Michele Sforza, head of the Command's Historical Archive.

The site recounted that the Historical Archive was created in 1991, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the National Fire Corps, when an exhibition on the origins of Turin's firefighting service, traced back to 1326, was set up in the Cortile d'Onore of the Royal Palace. The latest available scans of the two domains date from October 2019.

The site vvf.to.it, of the Provincial Command from 1998 to 2019

The site vvf.to.it, in the 14 June 1998 web archive snapshot, presents the Provincial Command of the Turin Fire Brigade, with administrative services, offices, external relations, news and history; in the 19 October 2019 snapshot the site retains similar sections on who we are, locations, history, events and operations. A page from 18 December 2018 reconstructs the historical sources of the Turin Fire Brigade.

The sites vvf.to.it and vvf.torino.it, from 1998 to 2019

In the 14 June 1998 snapshot, the site vvf.to.it of the Provincial Command of the Turin Fire Brigade publishes a notice on a public competition for 184 Firefighter positions and recalls, a year on, the night of 11 April 1997 when a fire struck Turin Cathedral. The twin domain vvf.torino.it, in the 2 February 1998 snapshot, publishes similar news.

Two parallel domains, vvf.to.it and vvf.torino.it, online already in 1998

The Provincial Command of the Turin Fire Brigade used two domains in parallel, vvf.to.it and vvf.torino.it, both already online in 1998 and active until at least 2019. In 2003 the site listed its headquarters at corso Regina Margherita 330; in 2019 it communicated new public reception hours for fire prevention procedures, in effect since 21 July 2015.
