Piedmontese foundations with a default page
Some domains of Piedmontese foundations, organisations and publications are still registered and reachable, but the server answers with a generic page instead of the site: this is the case of torinowireless.it, piemontemese.it and pyou.it[3][6][7].
torinowireless.it, the Fondazione Torino Wireless
The domain torinowireless.it was the online home of the Fondazione Torino Wireless, Piedmont's technology district for ICT. The first copy in the web archive, of 27 June 2003, is a placeholder page with no title and no text, just a single image[14]. In the copy of 12 July 2007 the site presents the foundation as «the Piedmontese technology district that brings together research, business and venture capital» and, among the news from the companies in its network, points to low-power wireless solutions for intrusion detection[8][11]. In 2009 the site described its research, technology transfer and business support activities, with its seat at corso Galileo Ferraris 64 in Turin[1].
In 2025 the same address redirected to piemonteinnova.it, the website of the Fondazione Piemonte Innova, the district's successor[2]. Queried directly, the old domain torinowireless.it now returns only the server's default page, «Apache2 Debian Default Page: It works», the same page kept in the archive copy of 23 September 2026[3][15].
piemontemese.it, the periodical Piemonte Mese
The domain piemontemese.it appears in the web archive from 25 April 2005, when it announced the launch of «Piemonte Mese», «a periodical for those who live in and love» Piedmont, subtitled «Cucina, Cultura, Artigianato» (cooking, culture, crafts): a journey «among villages and castles, on the peaks of Turin 2006», on the eve of the following year's Winter Olympics[18].
According to its «Chi siamo» (About us) page, piemontemese.it was born in 2009 from the merger of two ventures: piemonte-magazine.it, put online at the beginning of 2002 and described as the largest private website covering Piedmont's culture, places, crafts, food and wine, and the newspaper «Piemonte Mese», published in print from 2005 and among the first to move to online publication. The result is a free monthly online magazine about Piedmont, with ten issues a year (the December-January and July-August issues are combined), edited by Nico Ivaldi, with Lucilla Cremoni and Michelangelo Carta as editorial directors; the publication belongs to the cultural association Associazione Culturale Piemonte Mese[4][19].
The association also runs the Premio Piemonte Mese, a prize open to young people aged 18 to 35 for unpublished articles about Piedmont, under the patronage of, among others, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. Its «Il progetto» (The project) page mentioned collaborations with Piedmont's universities and a long partnership with Coldiretti Torino, and for the 2017 edition set the deadline for entries on 19 November, with the award ceremony in December[20].
The site, by then under the name «Piemontemese», remained active and updated until 2026. In July 2024 its «Storia e testimoni» (History and witnesses) section gathered contributors' articles on episodes of Piedmontese history, from the Canavese revolt of 1386 to the Biella flood of 1968, from the racial laws in the «Gazzetta del Popolo» to the sinking of the Andrea Doria[23]. The copies of July and August 2024 show that year's April-June issue and the exhibition «Ayrton Senna Forever» at MAUTO[22][12]; those of 5 and 16 March 2026 show the exhibition «Orazio Gentileschi. Un pittore in viaggio» (a painter on the move), open until 3 May 2026 in the Sale Chiablese of the Royal Museums of Turin (Musei Reali)[21][5]. Today the site answers with a «Database Error» message[6].
pyou.it, from Roman publications to the youth card
The domain pyou.it now belongs to PYou, Piedmont's youth card[7]. In its early years, however, it hosted content unrelated to Piedmont: in the first archive copy, of 20 October 2002, the page, with the generic title «Untitled Document», shows only the masthead «Machina» of the Machina Web Network, a periodical on image, entertainment, communication and society registered with the Court of Rome under number 499/99 of 8 November 1999, edited by Giacomo Carioti[9][16]. In the copy of 18 June 2003 the same page names the publication «Bancatel», registered with the press section of the Court of Rome under number 287/92, with the same editor[17].
In the following copies, from 2013 to 2023, the domain appears empty or parked; the one of 22 December 2021 shows a page with no content of its own[24]. In the copy of 23 September 2026 the domain shows a generic maintenance page, «Site is undergoing maintenance», with the copyright line «© PYou 2026», and it is still «in manutenzione» (under maintenance)[10][13][7].
