Fiera del Porro di Cervere

The Fiera del Porro di Cervere is a food festival held every year in Cervere, in the Cuneo area, dedicated to the Porro di Cervere (Cervere leek), one of the signature products of Piedmontese gastronomy. The 2026 edition, the 47th, runs from 7 to 22 November, spread over three weekends with a calendar of events dedicated to the area's flavours and traditions [1].

The Consortium and the supply chain

Behind the fair is the Consortium for the Protection of the Porro di Cervere, founded in November 1996 by 21 producers together with the then mayor of Cervere, Giorgio Maria Bergesio, who still serves as its president. In 2026 the Consortium marks thirty years of activity and has 35 producer members, alongside the municipality of Cervere and the Province of Cuneo as institutional members [2]. Leek cultivation covers about 20 hectares, with average seasonal output of around 2,000 quintals. In the 1990s the product was sold at markets for about 1,000 lire a bunch (roughly 0.52 euros); in 2026 the price paid to producers is 8 euros a kilo, while the public pays 8 euros per bunch. The Consortium now guarantees full traceability of the product, with labelling at every stage of the supply chain through to the point of sale [2].

The event in numbers

According to the Consortium's president, the fair draws an estimated 30,000 visitors per weekend over its three weekends. The food offerings are centred on the Palaporro, while direct sales of leeks take place at about 25 stalls, between the market area of piazza San Sebastiano and points of sale along the Statale. During the fair, an estimated 900 quintals of product are sold and consumed, roughly half of Cervere's entire seasonal output [2].

Related activities

The 2026 edition continues the educational project "Il Porro Cervere va a scuola!", now in its third edition, which for the first time involves middle schools as well as primary schools, for a total of about 160 pupils taking part. On 22 November a conference is also held, dedicated to the Consortium's thirty years of activity and to the future prospects of the supply chain [2].
