Femminile Plurale 2026 in Volpiano
Date of the event:
«Femminile Plurale» is a cultural programme dedicated to the theme of gender stereotypes, organised in Volpiano, in the Metropolitan City of Turin, between October and December 2026. The project was presented by the cultural association «Toto», by Lilt Volpiano and by the Gruppo Donne Volpiano (Volpiano Women's Group), under the patronage of the City of Volpiano [1]. The programme offers events aimed at audiences of different ages, with the aim of creating opportunities for meeting, discussion and personal growth through different forms of expression: books, photography, performances, readings, walks and workshops address themes related to identity, relationships, personal awareness and gender stereotypes [1].
Programme
The programme opened on Thursday 22 October, at 8.45 p.m., at the former school on via Carlo Botta, with the presentation of «Sull'orlo del mondo. Volti e storie da Ecuador e Colombia» (“On the Edge of the World. Faces and Stories from Ecuador and Colombia”) by Gianluca Sinico and Federica Furbatto, accompanied by the opening of a photography exhibition on view until 25 October. The photographs were auctioned off and the proceeds donated to the «Punto a Capo» anti-violence centre [1].
Theatre is one of the main strands of the programme. On 25 October, «Cambia_Menti» by the «NVM» company was staged, born out of the Tilde project; on 1 November, «Specchio Riflesso» was performed by «La Compagnia del Caffè»; on 22 November, «Fabulos Company» staged «Manuale Distruzione Femminile», a theatrical satire dedicated to the «ideal» model of womanhood and the social expectations that accompany it [1].
Talks and workshops
On 13 November, on a day aimed both at middle schools and at the general public, a meeting is planned with Sofia Gallo, author of the book «L'Ultima Mela» (“The Last Apple”). On 18 November, at the Centro Famiglia (Family Centre), the monthly meeting of the «Raccontastorie» (Storytellers) group offers readings that go beyond gender stereotypes, while on 28 November, in the same venue, «La borsa di Mary Poppins» (“Mary Poppins's Bag”), a creative workshop for families, is held [1].
In December, the theatre workshop «Riscriviamo» (“Let's Rewrite”) is planned, led by Pierpaolo Congiu of «Crab Teatro» and aimed at young people, to experiment with theatrical language as a tool against gender stereotypes. The programme concludes with «Sdrammatizza» (“Let's Lighten Up”), a theatre workshop for adults led by Virginia Risso, dedicated to discussing personal and social themes through the filter of humour [1].
