Dossier on the merger between Caselle and Malpensa airports (October 2026)

The dossier on the integration between Turin Caselle and Milan Malpensa airports will be ready and delivered to shareholders by October 2026: so announces Armando Brunini, CEO of Sea, the company that manages the Milan airports of Linate and Malpensa, setting a deadline for the first time after the feasibility study, launched in August, had initially suggested September. [1]

The project aims to integrate Sea with Sagat, the operator of Turin Caselle airport, into a single airport system for the North West; the linchpin of the operation is 2i Aeroporti, controlled by F2i and Asterion, which owns 100% of Sagat and is the second-largest shareholder of Sea with about 45%, while the City of Milan, which currently controls 54.8% of Sea, would retain the majority in the new entity too, with a stake of around 51%. [1] On the industrial side, Malpensa would retain its role as an intercontinental gateway, Linate that of a city airport for European and business traffic, while Caselle would strengthen its function as a regional airport, including through low-cost carriers; Sagat's CEO, Andrea Andorno, described a possible consolidation operation as "positive for all the players involved". [1] A possible integration should not affect Caselle's development plan, for which Enac has approved the Master Plan to 2032, which provides for €114 million in investment to increase its capacity, flexibility and efficiency.
