The 46th National Show of Piedmontese Cattle was held in Fossano, in piazza Dompè, from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 November 2026. The event, traditionally dedicated to breeders of the Piedmontese cattle breed, was enlivened in this edition by Coldiretti Cuneo and Campagna Amica with a programme also aimed at families and children [1].

The programme

The programme opened on Friday 6 November at 8.30 pm, in the Brut e Bun hall, with the conference «La razza Piemontese: prospettive e sfide future» («The Piedmontese breed: prospects and future challenges»), organised by Anaborapi, ARAP and Coldiretti [1]. On Saturday 7 November, in the same hall, at 11.30 am the show-cooking event «Sua Maestà la Piemontese» («Her Majesty the Piemontese») was held, dedicated to showcasing this breed's meat in cooking [1]. On Saturday afternoon, at 3.30 pm, the children's educational workshop «Piccoli allevatori crescono! Dalla stalla all'alpeggio» («Little breeders grow up! From the barn to the alpine pasture») was held, with the turning of milk into tomini cheese, while on Sunday 8 November at 11 am the workshop «Un chicco, mille scoperte!» («One grain, a thousand discoveries!»), dedicated to cereals, was offered. Both workshops, organised by Coldiretti Campagna Amica and Anaborapi, were free and by booking [1].

The Compral supply chain

Over the three days the Cooperativa Allevatori Cuneo (Compral) was present with a food truck distributing fassone beef of the Piedmontese breed as street food, including a pulled-beef sandwich and a burger made with fassone meat [2]. The event's restaurant pavilion also offered tajarin pasta with meat ragù and plin ravioli with roast gravy, as well as a trio of starters with vitello tonnato, battuta (raw minced beef) and tongue with bagnetto verde (green sauce) [2]. Compral also took part in the following Piemonte Cavalli show, scheduled for Sunday 15 November [2].

Statements

Raffaele Tortalla, president of the Coldiretti Fossano zone, described the show as an opportunity to discuss fair economic recognition for breeders' work and the prospects for the supply chain [1]. Ivan Matteodo, secretary of the Coldiretti Fossano zone, described the family activities as a way to teach children about the origin of food and the role of breeders [1]. Compral's president, Roberto Chialva, and director Marcello Pellegrino stressed the importance of the event in promoting fassone beef to the public, including students from the province's agricultural schools who attended the morphological judging contests [2].
