Via Gulli Murder in Turin

The via Gulli murder is a homicide case that occurred in Turin, in the Borgo Vittoria neighborhood, whose judicial developments reached a first turning point on 27 September 2026, when the preliminary investigations judge of the Turin Court ordered pre-trial detention for the three people taken into custody. The victim's body, Fabio Colapietro, 39, which had been dismembered, was found in an apartment on via Gulli.[1][2]

The facts

The man's dismembered body was found in an apartment on via Gulli, in Turin's Borgo Vittoria neighborhood. Following the discovery, law enforcement detained three people believed to be involved in the case.[1]

The suspects

The three detained are Christian Matheus De Oliveira Morando, 26, from Chivasso, charged with murder and concealment of a corpse; Nicole Formichetti, a 47-year-old teacher from Rieti; and Keith Butig, 22, Italian-Filipino. The two women are charged with aiding and abetting and complicity in concealing a corpse.[2]

The judge's decision

Preliminary investigations judge Antonio Borretta, who had reserved his decision, did not validate the detention of the three, since no flight risk was found. However, he deemed the evidence against the suspects sufficient and ordered pre-trial detention in prison for all three regardless.[1][2]
