Valle Maira
The Valle Maira is a valley in the province of Cuneo, in Piedmont. In October 2026 the president of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, visited the Pnrr construction sites at Elva, in the valley, accompanied by mayor Claudio Arneodo and the vice-president of the Regional Council, Franco Graglia.[1][2]
On 19 September 2026 two hikers were rescued at night in Acceglio, in the upper Valle Maira, after getting lost during a high-altitude hike, and were found in good condition by firefighters and rescue teams.[3]
