Torino Cronaca is a compact-format Turin daily newspaper devoted mainly to local news and neighbourhood life. It was founded in the early 2000s by Beppe Fossati, who edited it for twenty-three years, and by the former MP Massimo Massano; its publisher is Editoriale Argo, which in 2023 ranked tenth among Italian newspapers for public contributions to publishing. [1] For a long period the paper came out under the name CronacaQui, five days a week in Turin and its province; Fossati explained that the "qui" ("here") pointed to its focus on the local area, down to the news of individual districts and apartment blocks, and that the paper received tips from readers by post, email, WhatsApp and telephone. [2]

On 4 July 2006 a parcel bomb, which had arrived at the editorial office on Via Principe Tommaso disguised as an ordinary book shipment, exploded in the hands of editor Fossati, lightly injuring his face; the National Press Federation and the Union of Reporters condemned the episode as a serious act of intimidation against freedom of the press. [3]

On 1 February 2025 Fossati retired and the editorship passed to Andrea Monticone, with Marco Bardesono as deputy editor; the paper continues to be published both in print and online. [1] The website torinocronaca.it publishes news from Turin and Piedmont alongside local politics, sport and events. In the Torino Top 100 ranking for September 2026, the site is among the thousand most visited sites in Italy according to Google's Chrome UX Report.
