TorinoToday

TorinoToday is Turin's online daily newspaper, part of the Citynews network, one of Italy's leading online local news groups. It publishes news on crime, urban mobility, events and neighbourhood life for the city and the municipalities of the province, with a very strong presence on social media. [1]
Citynews was founded in 2010 by Luca Lani and Fernando Diana, starting out experimentally in Rome and Piacenza. In 2011 it received €4.5 million from Fondo Principia and Micheli Associati, which allowed it to launch editions for major cities already in its first year of activity. [2] The group broke even by mid-2014, and by the end of 2019 it had 53 editions and about 250 journalists among staff writers, contributors and freelancers. [3] The network's outlets, mostly named after the city followed by "Today", derive about 95% of their revenue from advertising and together produce roughly forty thousand news items a month. [2]
In September 2024 Citynews extended to Turin its "Dossier" project, a subscription-based section for investigations and in-depth reporting already active in Rome, Milan, Palermo, Agrigento and Brescia, while keeping most of its content free. [4] In the Torino Top 100 ranking for September 2026, the site appears among the thousand most visited sites in Italy according to Google's Chrome UX Report.
