The temporary post for Dr Alice Toya is the measure by which the health district of the ASL CN1, responsible for the municipality of Bagnolo Piemonte, in the province of Cuneo, ensures continuity of medical care for patients left without a family doctor after Dr Matteo Gerbaldo ended his practice. The post takes effect from 16 November 2026.

What happened

On 25 October 2026 Dr Matteo Gerbaldo ended his work as the appointed primary-care doctor in Bagnolo Piemonte. [1][2] To ensure continuity of care, the health district activated the procedures for assigning a new temporary post, filled thanks to the availability of Dr Alice Toya. [1]

Dr Toya begins work on Monday 16 November 2026, with an appointment-based surgery at via Vittorio Emanuele II 32 in Bagnolo Piemonte, on the following days and times: Monday from 3pm to 6pm, Tuesday from 9am to noon, Wednesday from 2pm to 5pm, Thursday from 4pm to 7pm and Friday from 10am to 1pm. [1][2] Patients are asked to bring their medical records to their first visit. [1]

Automatic assignment

From 16 November 2026, patients previously cared for by Dr Gerbaldo who had not in the meantime chosen another general practitioner are temporarily and automatically assigned to Dr Toya, without the need to go to the district offices, in order to ensure continuity of care. [1][2] It remains possible to choose another doctor with available places, following the usual procedure. [1][2]

Reactions

The mayor of Bagnolo Piemonte, Roberto Baldi, welcomed the new doctor, saying that the municipality considers itself fortunate because doctors who have retired have always been replaced, and noted that municipal offices are available to support residents with the procedures for choosing or changing their general practitioner.
