The Ri.Mu. is the air-raid shelter and history museum of the City of Grugliasco, located inside Villa Boriglione, in the Parco Culturale Le Serre, at via Tiziano Lanza 31. The same complex also houses the Istituto per i Beni Marionettistici e il Teatro Popolare - Museo Gianduja, dedicated to puppet theatre. Together, the two sites form a landmark of Grugliasco's historical and cultural heritage [1][2].

The underground corridor and the museum

The Ri.Mu. preserves an underground corridor used as an air-raid shelter, reopened to the public after redevelopment works. Inside, the Museo della Grugliaschesità has been set up, curated by the associations Cojtà Gruliascheisa, Agorart and Sezione Aurea, which were awarded the co-management of the site through a public call [1][2].

The exhibition path comprises two rooms. The "Grugliasco nel tempo" room displays historical photographs of the civic tower, notable local figures and the city's bealera (irrigation channel), marking the 610th anniversary of its construction. The second room is dedicated to silent cinema, with photographs of early-20th-century film equipment and material on the Photodrama Producing Company of Italy, a film company of national importance once based at the Villa Boriglione complex [1][2].

Opening hours and visits

In November 2026, special free openings of the Ri.Mu. were announced for Sunday 15 November, Sunday 29 November, Saturday 5 December and Sunday 20 December, from 3pm to 5pm. Admission is limited to a maximum of ten people at a time; bookings are recommended only for large groups, via the email address cojta@libero.it [1][2].

The Museo Gianduja, in the same building, is open to the public every Sunday from 3pm to 7pm, with a collection dedicated to puppet theatre that includes historic marionettes and puppets, period photographs, documents and themed memorabilia. In December, when the Casetta di Babbo Natale opens at Villa Boriglione, the exhibit can also be visited on Saturdays, at the same times. For information and visits by appointment, the number 360 457237 is active [1][2].
