October 2026 road accident

During the night between 10 and 11 October 2026, a few minutes before 6 a.m., a car carrying five young people went off the road along Provincial Road 13 of the Colle di Sestriere, within the municipal territory of Pragelato [1][2][3]. The causes of the accident were, at the time, still being established by the police, who were on site to carry out the investigation [1][3].

Among the five occupants of the vehicle, the most serious injuries were suffered by a 17-year-old girl, found in cardiac arrest and given prolonged resuscitation on site by medical personnel; once stabilised, she was taken in a critical condition to the emergency room of the Pinerolo hospital [1][2][3]. A 27-year-old man was transferred to the same hospital, also in a critical condition, having suffered a head injury and a broken arm, and was stabilised before transport [1][2][3]. The other three young people on board suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Pinerolo emergency room in stable condition for examination and treatment [1][2][3].

The response was coordinated by the 118 emergency operations centre of Azienda Zero, which sent three ambulances to the scene [1][2][3]. The hospital also activated its psychological support service, whose staff reached the Pinerolo hospital to assist the injured and their families in the stages following admission to the emergency room [1][2][3].
