Road accident of 30 October 2026

On the evening of Friday 30 October 2026, a silver Toyota Celica convertible, driven by a 25-year-old man, went off the road at the junction near Bruzolo railway station, on via Carlo Emanuele I [1][2]. According to an initial reconstruction, the driver swerved sharply to avoid an animal that suddenly appeared on the road, losing control of the vehicle [1][2].

The car crashed into a masonry pillar supporting a fence, at the side of the road. The impact seriously damaged the front and left side of the vehicle, shattered the windscreen and caused the pillar to give way in several places; a lamp post and part of the fence were also damaged [1]. A tow truck was called in to clear the road [1].

An ambulance and the Azienda Zero 118 air ambulance arrived on the scene, along with the Carabinieri of the Susa company, who carried out the on-site investigation to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident, and firefighters from the Borgone Susa and Susa stations [1][2]. The young man was stabilised by medics and airlifted to the Cto hospital in Turin, where he was admitted with a fractured femur [1][2].
