Piemonte in moto
Piemonte in moto ("Piedmont on a Motorbike") is a tourism project promoted by the Piedmont Region, made up of 14 motorcycle routes designed to link the Alps to the sea across the territory of Piedmont and Liguria. The initiative is run by the Piedmont Region's Tourism department, based in Turin, and was presented for the first time at Eicma 2026, the international two-wheeler exhibition held at Fiera Milano Rho from 3 to 8 November [1].
Presentation at Eicma 2026
For the first time, Piedmont and Liguria are present together at Eicma, sharing an exhibition space in Pavilion 11, Stand S31, dedicated to an integrated tourism offer for motorcycle and bicycle enthusiasts [1]. Eicma, held since its first edition in 1914, registered over 600,000 visitors from 148 countries and more than 43,000 industry professionals from 167 countries in 2025 [1]. In this context, the 14 «Piemonte in moto» routes make their debut, presented alongside other existing offers such as «La Liguria degli Anelli» ("Liguria's Loops"), the Piedmontese «Strade Storiche» ("Historic Roads") that cross the Maritime Alps, and the cycling routes of the Ciclovia Tirrenica [1].
The partnership with Liguria
The project is part of an institutional partnership between Piedmont and Liguria launched in October 2025 with the signing of a protocol dedicated to shared tourism development [1]. The stated aim is to link the Alps to the Mediterranean through routes, landscapes and travel experiences by motorbike and bicycle, reaching new segments of visitors and promoting stays outside the traditional tourist circuits [1].
The Piedmont Region's councillor for Trade, Agriculture and Food, Tourism, Sport and Post-Olympic affairs, and Parks, Paolo Bongioanni, said the aim is to build “a network of cycling and motorcycle routes that turn into proper tourism products the heritage of ancient trade and military roads that have linked Piedmont and the Riviera for centuries” [1].
