National Tripe Fair of Moncalieri 2026
From Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October 2026, Moncalieri hosts the National Tripe Fair, part of the fourth edition of Gusto Festival at the PalaExpo, the former historic Livestock Market active until 1993. Moncalieri's tripe is recognised as a Traditional Italian Agri-Food Product (P.A.T.).
The origins of the dish, made from pork stomach, are traditionally traced back to the 15th century and attributed to Moncalieri, said to have been the first to experiment with this method of preparing offal.
The fair is a fixture of Moncalieri's autumn calendar of events: in the 2022 edition its distinctive feature was the «Pentolone», the large cauldron in which the tripe is cooked before being served to the public.
