Moretta

Moretta is a municipality (comune) in Piedmont, in the Province of Cuneo, in the Saluzzese area. The mayor in office in 2026 is Gianni Gatti.

Tourism and the area

The municipal administration promotes several forms of tourism in the area, including cycling tourism linked to the Via delle Risorgive route [1][2]. The Cuneese area, where Moretta is located, is described as popular with motorcyclists, both for Alpine routes crossing the Colle dell'Agnello pass and for events such as the Fossano rally [1][2].

Joining the «Comuni amici dei motociclisti» network

With city executive (Giunta) resolution number 138 of 29 September 2026, Moretta approved joining the national network of «Comuni amici dei motociclisti» ("municipalities that are friends of motorcyclists") and the national «A.D.M. PASS» project [1][2]. The initiative aims to promote motorcycle tourism and showcase local areas through a network of towns welcoming to riders [1][2].

The A.D.M. PASS project lets motorcyclists registered in the Albo dei Motociclisti request a personal passport, with an identification number, on which they collect stamps from participating municipalities during their travels [1][2]. In Moretta, the point designated for the official stamp is the «Baracca del gelato» ice-cream kiosk [1][2]. Joining the network also gives the municipality its own page on the project's website, with information on attractions, services and places to visit [1][2].

Mayor Gianni Gatti said the administration intends to open Moretta up to different forms of tourism, promoting its cultural and food heritage and local produce, as well as tapping into less traditional tourism channels such as cycling and motorcycle tourism [1][2].
