Margherita and Her Grandchildren (Palazzina di Stupinigi, 2026)
On Sunday, 4 October 2026, on the occasion of Grandparents' Day, the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, in Nichelino in the Turin metropolitan area, offered a themed tour titled «Margherita e i suoi nipoti» (Margherita and Her Grandchildren) at 3:45 pm. The initiative was the second appointment in the cycle «La Regina Margherita e i suoi affetti» (Queen Margherita and Her Loved Ones), dedicated to the family life of the queen mother Margherita di Savoia between the residences of Stupinigi and Racconigi [1].
The Themed Tour
The tour led participants through the rooms of the Palazzina, presented not only as spaces of court life but as places of family relationships, upbringing and shared experiences between Queen Margherita and the young princes. The display drew on photographs, memories and traces of everyday life to reconstruct the relationship between the sovereign and her grandchildren [1].
The «Queen Margherita and Her Loved Ones» Cycle
The cycle offers an account of the everyday life and personal relationships of the Queen Mother, distinct from an institutional biography, connecting the Palazzina di Stupinigi, linked to Margherita's presence, with the residence of Racconigi, seat of the royal family and the young princes. The first appointment in the cycle was held in April 2026, dedicated to the Queen's daily life amid modern comforts and court life; the second meeting, in October, shifted attention to family memories and affections [1].
How to Take Part
The themed visit, lasting about two hours, cost 5 euros in addition to the admission ticket to the Palazzina (12 euros full price, 8 euros reduced), with free admission for people with disabilities and their companions, children under 6, and holders of the Abbonamento Musei Torino Piemonte and Royal Card. Booking was required by the Friday before the event [1].
