Inspection visit by Luca Robaldo to Elva (November 2026)

On 4 November 2026, the president of the Province of Cuneo, Luca Robaldo, carried out an inspection visit to Elva, a small municipality in the Maira Valley, to personally check the progress of construction sites open within the municipal area and the state of the road network, in particular the Vallone road, closed since 2014 due to a landslide. The inspection visit

Robaldo was accompanied on his fact-finding tour by the mayor of Elva, Claudio Arneodo, and by municipal councillor Franco Graglia, deputy speaker of the Piedmont Regional Council. The visit follows earlier ones made in previous months by the president of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, and by the regional councillor for infrastructure, public works and soil defence, Marco Gabusi. The Vallone road

During the visit, an update was given on the Vallone road, whose reopening was named by Mayor Arneodo as one of the area's priorities. The mayor stated that the municipality is weighing several options for starting works and restoring the road as soon as possible, without ruling out upgrading alternative routes, and that a project in collaboration with the Politecnico di Torino is also under study. The provincial technical working group

During the meeting, the importance of the technical working group set up at provincial level was reaffirmed, to monitor the progress of the works and carry forward a shared project with limited resources and a low environmental impact, according to Mayor Arneodo. [1]
