Hit-and-run accident in Rivoli of 26 October 2026
Date of the event:
The hit-and-run accident in Rivoli of 26 October 2026 occurred on Monday 26 October at the junction of corso De Gasperi and via Adamello, in the municipality of Rivoli. A Fiat Panda made a sudden swerving manoeuvre, hitting a scooter ridden by a woman and causing her to fall onto the road [1][2]. The woman was given first aid and taken by ambulance to Rivoli hospital, where she was found not to have suffered serious injuries [2]. The driver of the car did not stop to help and fled towards Rosta [1][2].
The investigation
The inquiries were carried out by Rivoli's Local Police Corps Service, based on via Dora Riparia [2]. Officers gathered witness statements and examined footage from municipal and private surveillance cameras, as well as data from the number-plate recognition system installed across the municipality, tracing first the vehicle and then the driver's identity [1]. According to L'Agenda News, the identification was also helped by findings from an earlier hit-and-run in the centre of Rivoli, which had previously been solved through similar checks [2].
Identification and charges
At the start of November 2026 Rivoli's local police identified and reported a 23-year-old man living in Collegno, considered responsible for the accident and the subsequent flight [1][2]. The 23-year-old had his driving licence confiscated ahead of the expected suspension [1][2]. His case was referred, without pre-trial detention, to the Turin public prosecutor's office (Procura) for assessment [2].
