Fatal workplace accident at Lemma di Busca on 29 October 2026

Late on Thursday 29 October 2026, at Lemma, a hillside hamlet (frazione) of the municipality of Busca, in the province of Cuneo, a man born in 1962 lost his life while doing farm work on land he owned. According to initial reports, he was crushed between the tractor he was driving and the trunk of a tree ^[1][2].

The events and the rescue effort

The alarm was raised around 8:15 pm, when the victim's wife, not seeing him come home, called the emergency number to report a serious accident on the land ^[1][2]. Fire brigade crews responded, with the first unit coming from Cuneo and support from the volunteer detachments of Busca and Venasca, together with the Carabinieri and 118 emergency medical staff with an ambulance ^[1][2].

The outcome

Despite the prompt response of the rescuers, nothing could be done for the man: medical staff could only confirm his death, caused by severe injuries ^[1][2]. The exact circumstances remain to be clarified: it will be up to the investigating authorities to reconstruct how the fatal accident occurred in the countryside at Lemma ^[1].
