Fabio Proietti Savini
Fabio Proietti Savini is the commissioner of the Municipal Police of San Benigno Canavese, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Turin. He coordinated an evening movida (nightlife) enforcement project carried out by the municipal police force between May and September 2026.[1][2]
The movida project
The project, officially concluded at the end of September 2026, led to more than 70 fines being issued. The fines mainly concerned illegal parking: vehicles parked in disc-zone reserved spaces, in spaces for people with disabilities, or in double rows. Specific checks were also carried out on articulated lorries parked illegally within the municipal area.[1][2]
As part of the checks, breathalyser tests were also carried out on drivers, in collaboration with the Carabinieri station in Volpiano, to combat drink-driving.[1][2]
Checks on public venues
The project coordinated by Proietti Savini also included checks on public venues regarding emergency exits and safety regulations, ordered in light of the directives issued following the Crans-Montana tragedy the previous New Year's Eve. No irregularities on this front were found in the venues of San Benigno Canavese.[1][2]
Noise-level monitoring was also carried out at evening venues: here too no breaches of the limits set by regulations were established, although several reports requesting intervention were sent to Arpa (the regional environmental protection agency). Two businesses were nonetheless fined for administrative violations unrelated to safety and noise pollution issues. During the summer the municipal police, under the coordination of Proietti Savini, also patrolled the area during village food festivals (sagre) and public events.[1][2]
Continuation of the activity
With the evening project now closed, the activity of the municipal police coordinated by Proietti Savini continues until the end of 2026 in tackling double-row parking, an offence frequently reported by residents of San Benigno Canavese. A final report is due to be presented to the town council at the end of the year.[1][2]
