On the evening of 30 October 2026 several thousand people gathered in piazza Castello in Turin for a march promoted by the occupants of the Campus Einaudi and the Torino per Gaza collective, chanting «Meloni stiamo arrivando» («Meloni, we're coming»). At the head of the march was carried the banner «Ogni polo sarà una barricata noi la guerra non la paghiamo» («Every campus will be a barricade, we won't pay for the war»). [1]

The route

Police had blocked access to the main streets of the city centre. The protesters therefore set off from the Giardini Reali and took corso San Maurizio, blocking traffic. Once it reached piazza Vittorio Veneto, the march found a police line blocking the entrance to via Po. [1]

Tension in via Po

Some of the participants ran along via Principe Amedeo and via delle Rosine to reach via Po anyway, where bottles were thrown at a Carabinieri van. [1]

Earlier events of the day

Many of those present at the evening march had already taken part, earlier the same day, in the demonstration for the general strike, during which some disorder had occurred. [1] The 30 October march was described as the second protest of the day against prime minister Meloni, after the one on 24 October, when a photo of the prime minister had been burned in Turin amid chants and slogans against her.
