Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia

Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia is the Head of the Royal House of Savoy.1 He also chairs AICODS, an international association based in Geneva that brings together members of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy.2 Between 26 and 27 September 2026 he presided in Turin over the annual Chapter of the Dynastic Orders, which brought over a thousand participants from around the world to the city, between the Auditorium Agnelli at Lingotto and the Reggia di Venaria, where the gala dinner was held in the Galleria di Diana, built in the 17th century by Carlo Emanuele II.1

At Lingotto the presentation of new members and candidates to the prince was held, while in Venaria the gala dinner had a charitable purpose, supporting a paediatric palliative care project for Turin's Regina Margherita hospital; Emanuele Filiberto's mother, Marina Doria, also took part in the events.2 At the Auditorium Agnelli, Emanuele Filiberto awarded, for payment, chivalric orders whose granting has been prohibited by Italian law since the 1950s; participation in the events required a contribution of thousands of euros, paid into AICODS' Swiss bank account and intended, according to the organisers, for donations to the Regina Margherita hospital.3 The affair led Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra MP Marco Grimaldi to file a parliamentary question on the association's financial transactions, on which a complaint has also reportedly been filed with the prosecutor's office.3
