Comieco
Comieco is the consortium responsible for recycling paper materials collected by local waste operators; in Turin it works with Amiat Gruppo Iren, which supplies it with the paper and cardboard from the city's separate waste collection.[1]
The «Nella carta? Sì» campaign (September 2026)
From 21 September 2026 Comieco, together with Amiat Gruppo Iren and under the patronage of the City of Turin, launched the campaign «Nella cartaaaaa? Sì» to encourage residents to also put beverage cartons (for milk, fruit juice and similar products) — made up of 75% paper, 20% polyethylene and 5% aluminium — into paper collection. The campaign, lasting about a month, ran through billboards, radio and TV spots, print and social media.[2][3]
According to Comieco's general manager Roberto Di Molfetta, in the first year of operation of the Risma plant in Collegno, dedicated to separating beverage cartons, Amiat delivered about 400 tonnes of this material to Comieco; the new campaign's goal is to double volumes within 18 months.[2]
Amiat Gruppo Iren's chair Paola Bragantini recalled that paper was the first material collected separately in Turin, while the City's environment councillor Chiara Foglietta pointed out that separate collection is now active in all 34 city neighbourhoods.[1]
