Celebration of Raspini's 80th anniversary at IFSE in Piobesi Torinese (October 2026)

On 15 October 2026, the cured-meats company Raspini celebrates 80 years in business with an event at IFSE (Italian Food Style Education) in Piobesi Torinese, dedicated to cooked ham and to the tramezzino sandwich, which in the same year marks its hundredth anniversary since being created in Turin.¹² Founded in 1946 by Elsa Raspini, née Viotto, in Scalenghe, the company grew out of a shop in piazza Barcellona, in Turin.¹³

The evening was opened by Lorenzo Valle, known on social media as «il Sabaudo Torinese», who retraced the history of the tramezzino, created in Turin and, according to the story, named by Gabriele D'Annunzio. Participants, including journalists and food-industry experts, then split into teams working alongside the academy's chefs to prepare two versions of the tramezzino, one traditional and one reinterpreted, both made with Raspini cooked ham.¹³

Chair and chief executive Tiziana Raspini recalled that «Raspini was not born from a plan drawn up on paper, but from a family's drive, a passion for trade and a love of good food».²³ Marketing and communications manager Emilia Lisdero cited the relaunch of the «Mangia & Chiudi» product among the company's recent initiatives.¹² The partnership between Raspini and IFSE, born out of training and food-promotion work, reached its tenth year in 2026.¹³ For the anniversary, the company announced that from the end of October it will publish on its website a recipe book with ten tramezzino recipes, one for each decade of its history.¹²
